Material
Gillies Creek mines bank gravel from various
borrow sites in the Richmond area. This material
is composed of sandy, gravelly clay. The gravel
in this material ranges in size from approximately
one inch in diameter down to less than one
sixteenth of an inch. The mixture of gravel
and sandy clay makes for a superior base
or fill material that yields exceptional
compaction.
We also offer sand to the commercial construction
industry. The consistency of the sand is
much like that of river sand, or mortar sand.
When providing fill material from our borrow
pits, we will also accept waste dirt for
a small tipping fee.
